Fall Guild Annual Meeting at Lake Morey 2026
It’s time to make plans to participate in our Fall Guild Annual Meeting, Hook-in, Classes, and Red Solo Cup Auction! Lake Morey will be hosting us again November 14. We’re keeping the extended day that we tried out last year. All seem to really appreciate the extra time for everyone to do everything! Students will be able to participate in their classes, the Annual Meeting, and the after-lunch Speaker. Another change we are keeping is the move to the upstairs newly refurbished ballroom on the main floor. No stairs, corridors or uneven floors to negotiate for most people. There is an elevator for those who would like a ride. The ballroom is accessed via the main entrance and is grand enough to hold the Meeting/Hook-in, Red Solo Cup Auction and Vendors. One of the two classes will also be on that main floor off the lobby in a large, bright room. The other will be downstairs with a view of the lake.
Meeting Schedule
8:00 – 9:00 AM Registration, coffee, breakfast snack (Note: Registration for Classes is 8:00 AM for a 8:15 AM start)
8:15 – 12:15 Classes (start promptly at 8:15 with a little extra time after lunch)
9:00 – 12:15 Fun: Vendor shopping, Red Solo Cup shopping, Visiting, Hooking
12:15– 1:00 Lunch
1:00 – 1:45 Members’ Meeting and Elections, while hooking
2:00 – 3:00 Speaker: Elisabeth Mazzilli “Creating Chromatic Dialogue: Finding Your Artistic Voice in Alternative Color”
3:00 – 3:45 Red Solo Cup Auction, while hooking
3:45 Wrapping It up

Ania Knap - Stained Glass:

Judith Hotchkiss - Finishing Techniques:
Do you love the hooking but procrastinate when it comes to finishing? It is often said that the finished edge can make or break a rug, but what does that mean? This workshop is designed to inspire and expand your ideas on how to finish your mats while still maintaining a technically sound edge. Elisabeth Mazzilli, guest speaker. “Creating Chromatic Dialogue; Finding Your Artistic Voice in Alternative Color.”
“One of the things that excites me most about rug hooking is choosing colors after I've drawn the pattern on the linen. All of my wool over the last decade has come from repurposing blankets and clothing I find at local resource and thrift stores and so I constantly have to think outside of a traditional color palette when hooking. I use the colors I have available to me in the moment, which challenges my creativity and perspective, and alters the look and feel of my artistic output. Skies are rarely blue, animals oftentimes are hooked in fantastical color schemes, and backgrounds tend to be made from old recycled blankets, since that is the only true yardage I possess. I have been playing with the interpretation of color for years, and just recently have started integrating holes into my patterns, absent spaces in the hooking that is opening new spaces inside me artistically as well.”
