LEARNING TO HOOK RUGS

Friday Oct, 19 (9:30-4:30) – 1 day workshop
Diane Burgess

Learn the basics of traditional rug hooking while creating a small project. The focus of this one-day workshop will be technique (hands on hooking and lots of it). We will be using a primitive #8 cut (1/4” strips of wool). A practice kit is provided which includes a primitive size hook, backing and transfer material. I will have some simple patterns you can use along with some free wool. You will learn the types of rug designs, techniques, color choices, wool quantity, cuts of wool, backings, finishing techniques, as well as tools and materials that are available. Additional wool will be available for purchase during the workshop.
